Security

This form is opened when you select “Security” from the chevron icon  (see upper-right corner of the screen). The view of this form changes based on whether the two-factor authentication has been set up or not. Two headings are used to make the distinction between the two.

You can add an extra layer of protection to your StatusHub account with a 2FA app. This app generates a one-time code (six digits) that you must enter to access your StatusHub account, in addition to your regular password.

Setting up two-factor authentication (2FA) for the first time

1 Download a two factor authentication app

To help you decide which 2FA app you want to use, StatusHub gives you three recommendations:
  • Authy

  • 1Password

  • LastPass

Each link opens the corresponding official website where you can learn more about the app and download it.

2 Scan the QR code using one of the apps above

Open your 2FA app and follow their instructions to add a new account (scan the QR code). If that’s not possible, click the “Copy to clipboard” link and paste the code where required in the app.

3 Enter the token from the app and your current password

Token: Enter the token provided by the app.

Current password: Enter the current password of your StatusHub account to authorize the use of 2FA security.
Enable Two-Factor Authentication: Click the button to enable 2FA in your StatusHub account.

Managing 2FA

Once your StatusHub account is set up you have a few options to manage it.

Disable Two-factor authentication: Click the button to disable 2FA from your StatusHub account. You must then enter the current password of your StatusHub account to authorize this.

Generate Recovery Codes: Click the button to generate a batch of one-time recovery codes. Save them in a safe place so that you can regain access to your account if you need to.
